How to Look Natural on Camera Without Feeling Posed

It starts before the wedding

The fastest way to feel comfortable on your wedding day is to have practiced. An engagement session is exactly that rehearsal — by the time the wedding arrives, being photographed is familiar instead of strange. If nerves are your worry, this is the best fix there is.

Movement over poses

Stiff poses make almost everyone feel stiff. We’d rather give you something to do — walk together, lean in, whisper something, keep moving — because motion relaxes the body and the face in a way holding still never will. The best frames usually happen between the directions, not during them.

Focus on each other, not the lens

The camera tends to disappear when you stop watching it. We’ll often ask you to look at each other, talk to each other, even forget we’re there for a minute — and that’s when the real expressions surface. You’re not performing for us; you’re just being together while we catch it.
